Experience
My teaching skills extend to the classic subjects of math, philosophy, and writing. I have helped my classmates with their math questions ever since my days in middle school. My younger siblings also come to me for help with their daily homework, and I have filled in as a private tutor for high schoolers and university underclassmen. I have also acted as a volunteer after-school teacher for elementary school children in various programs. I am extremely comfortable with elementary, middle school and high school math, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus I, and AP calculus AB. I incorporate my passion for philosophy and writing into my instructional techniques and rely on conversation to encourage my students to use their own interests to help them understand their questions and problems. In addition to math, I am well-versed in social studies, political science, American history, physical sciences, writing, and English language skills. I help students to hone their study skills and to feel at ease with the California High School Exit Exam ("CAHSEE"). I earned a Communications degree from The California State University - Los Angeles. My writing skills led to an offer to be the sports editor for the Pasadena City College student newspaper. I live in San Gabriel and enjoy basketball, football, and baseball. I am a fan of movies such as the Godfather films, When Harry Met Sally, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. My favorite television programs are Friends, Breaking Bad, and How I Met Your Mother.
