EducationI currently hold a preliminary single-subject teaching credential in mathematics (which basically means I can teach math in a public high school in California). I graduated with a Sociology B.A. from UCLA, and I graduated from San Marino High School.
ExperienceI am currently teaching math at LAICHS.
Spent a quarter student teaching at the Engineering and Technology Academy at Esteban E. Torres High School.
In high school, I got a 5 on AP calculus, 800 on the SAT 1 math section, and 720 on the SAT 2 math without any test prep.
I took many math classes in UCLA such as liner algebra and proofs in calculus.
I have been tutoring students for 10 years (since I was in high school).
I am interested in helping you or your child to learn and understand math, as well as to improve or maintain school grades. I understand that students often find math to be painful, but I hope to help make it less painful :)
HobbiesI like numbers. I once memorized pi to 200 digits while in high school! I like to run and play video/board games. I also enjoy music. I used to be shy, so I am empathetic towards shy students.
I love helping people in general, and I love tutoring math! I'm a very honest person; I won't charge for the first session if you don't like me.

Richard is a great tutor who is very dedicated and prepared. He is also very patient and knowledgeable and is willing to go the extra mile to explain the concept. Richard genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He helped my son with trigonometry. We would recommend him to anyone who needs a tutor. Thank you Richard!
